Your Privacy and Security is Important

We at Centum Discount Mortgage Canada Inc. (DMC) are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and security. DMC has taken all reasonable measures to protect the security of your personal information gathered through our website (the Site) and to protect your data from misuse and unauthorized access or disclosure. DMC exercises care in providing secure transmission of your information from your computer to our servers.

Information Collected Through the Site

Statistical Information

We automatically collect anonymous statistical information regarding usage of our website. For instance, our Site will recognize the type of browser you are using (Netscape or Internet Explorer), the address of the Internet Service Provider you are using, the site that linked you to our Site, the pages you visit at our Site, and similar information. None of this information identifies you personally.


DMC has two primary uses for its cookies. First, we use them to specify each user's preferences. Second, we use cookies to track website usage trends and patterns. This helps us to better understand the needs of our users and to improve areas of our services which our users find valuable. While both of these activities depend on the use of cookies, you have the option of disabling the cookies via your browser preferences.

Personal Information

DMC does not collect your personal information through the Site except when such personal information is provided to us on a voluntary basis. For example, DMC will collect a user's name, address, phone number and/or email address and any additional details that a user chooses to provide if he or she completes the forms on the pages of the Site. If you choose not to provide personal information, please note that certain services associated with the Site may not be available to you as they cannot be supplied without personal information.

Use and Disclosure of Information

Your personal information that is gathered through the Site will not be sold to third parties without your approval, provided that DMC reserves the right to and may disclose such personal information: (a) to its affiliates, subsidiaries and third party agents for purposes related to providing services associated with the Site or the promotion or advertisement of DMC,  or their respective wares and services; or (b) if such disclosure is made pursuant to a requirement or request of a government agency, subpoena or other legal proceeding or otherwise required by law.

DMC uses information gathered through the Site for the purposes of:

  • including each user's personal information on DMC's databases and on DMC's mailing list in order to provide users with updates and invitations to upcoming events that may be of interest to each user;
  • responding to any specific requests you may make;
  • understanding how the Site is being used and to improve the Site
  • using such information in connection with the marketing initiatives of DMC.

Removal of Personal Information

You can request that we delete all your personal information submitted by you through the Site from our database by providing detailed instructions to DMC's Privacy Officer. Upon your request, DMC will delete all electronically stored personal information you have submitted through the Site. Please note that DMC is not responsible for and cannot delete personal information from the systems or files of or other organizations such as financial institutions, credit reporting agencies, or real estate brokers that have subsequently been sent your personal information by us. In some circumstances the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) may require that we keep all applications for a period of seven years. Please allow two weeks for processing of deletion requests.

Natural Limits of Security

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, DMC cannot and does not ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and any information you do transmit to us via the Internet is done at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, DMC uses industry-accepted efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your information, such as firewalls, secure socket layers as well as unique user name and password protections.

We also restrict internal access of stored data to select employees that have been informed of our privacy policies. If you have concerns involving the security or privacy of your information, please contact DMC's Privacy Officer.
